For 2018, the Romance Travel University will return to the Embassy Suites by Hilton Convention Center Las Vegas (3600 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, NV 89169, 702.893.8000) as our host hotel.
We’re pleased that the hotel just finished top-to-bottom renovations of its guestrooms – we’ll have photos to share with you soon!
By staying at the host hotel, you’ll always be near the conference action, you can relax in your room between sessions, and you’ll find it easier to participate in the evening functions (e.g., departing there Wednesday evening for the off-site reception).
We have special conference rates of USD$124/night for king suites (1 king bed) and $144/night for queen suites (2 queen beds). All suites offer two rooms – a bedroom and a spacious living room. These rates are available from Sun., April 29, through Saturday, May 5 (departing Sunday). The rates do not include 12 percent in local hotel taxes. However, the hotel does not charge daily resort fees (that can make a HUGE difference as you compare room rates for hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, where daily resort fees can run $35-$45 each night currently).
Your room rate includes a complimentary full cooked-to-order breakfast each day (so, if you stay in the host hotel for the conference, your meals will be basically covered Tuesday through Thursday). We’ve also arranged for free WiFi Internet access in your room.
The hotel is located one block off the central portion of the Las Vegas Strip, near the Wynn and Venetian hotels (the nearest cross street is Sands Avenue). While it doesn’t offer shuttle service to/from the airport, it does offer on-demand shuttles between the hotel and the Fashion Show Mall and the nearest station for the Las Vegas Monorail. Those shuttles run daily between 7.30 am and 10.30 pm on request, so you’ll call the front desk to arrange times for dropoffs and return pickups.
To reserve a room, please call 702.947.7166 or 888.243.9146 and identify yourself as being with the DWHSA group! Or, you can use this handy booking link …
Like most Las Vegas properties, the host hotel doesn’t offer shuttle service to/from McCarran International Airport.
SuperShuttle in Las Vegas is offering discounted rates for transfers between the airport and the host hotel (or other hotels where you may be staying instead). Click this link (or, you can go to SuperShuttle.com or download SuperShuttle’s app and use the code PEQX4). If you’re asked at any point for the DWHSA group discount code, it’s PEQX4.
If you book your transfer through SuperShuttle, here are the directions when you land in Las Vegas:
- Terminal 1: Collect your luggage when you land and exit the baggage claim area via Door 11 (behind Starbucks). Proceed right to the SuperShuttle ticket booth to speak with a uniformed customer service representative.
- Terminal 3: Collect your luggage when you land and proceed to the SuperShuttle ticket booth to speak with a uniformed customer service representative. You’ll find the booth outside Door 53, to the right of the baggage claim area.
(Not sure which terminal you’ll land at? Check https://www.mccarran.com/Terminals.)
And, here are other options for airport/hotel transfers:
- Limo service to/from the airport
- Uber to/from the airport
- Lyft to/from the airport (note: the coupon showing on this linked page expired in 2016)
